Real Wedding - Jen hearts Josh

In May we had the pleasure of working with a wonderfully unique couple that put amazing touches all over their wedding!  From their engagement shoot, where they donned matching heart t-shirts to the end of the reception, where guests toasted the couple with cookies & milk shooters we knew this love was meant to be.  The National Gallery provided the perfect backdrop for their vows underneath a cherry blossom chuppah.  Live music filled the air while the guests dined at chef attended stations provided by Tulips and Maple.  And lucky for us, Miv Photography was on hand to capture all the fabulous details we love so much, enjoy...

40 Under 40 Awards

What a great night for Ottawa and it's Top 40!

“New beginnings” may have been a theme of Thursday night’s Forty Under 40 awards gala but, for many recipients, remembering the lessons of the past are the keys to continued success.
This year’s event, held at the Hilton Lac-Leamy, was the 15th anniversary of OBJ’s Forty Under 40 awards, which have evolved from a newspaper feature to one of the premiere events of the year for Ottawa’s business community.
And Marry Me Productions was an honour to be a recipient of this wonderful award.
Recipients were selected based on their business achievements, expertise and community involvement.
Even better, the event raised $8,986 for the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.

Asian Wedding Photos

I was excited when I received an email this morning from an Australian bride with her attached photos using our Weddingstar products. The designer aisle runner - pink pearl color with red silk rose petals looked super formal and elegant on their wedding day. The beautiful bride and handsome groom looked just perfect with our colorful paper parasols with such stylish props for photographs.
Thank you, Hiu, for sharing those photos with us.
For the wedding reception, the bride and groom used the love birds place card holder and tree for table decorations.

Paper Parasol with Bamboo Boning - Sale price: $6.99 - 8.39
All photos were taken by Daniel/Chris at IDO Photography.

HELP MARRY ME RUN FOR THE CURE!

As you all know Marry Me Productions is a proud supporter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and this October we are once again participating in the Run for the Cure.
The Breast Dress Project has raised over $30,000 since 2009
and last year the entire team ran in wedding dresses!

We have set a goal this year for our team of $15,000 and are confident we can beat that amount!
This year we have also decided to use our Facebook fan page to raise our entry fee.
For every fan that signs up between now and the race Marry Me will donate $1 to our entry goal.
So we need 300 fans to sign up now.
Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your colleagues and help Marry Me Run for the Cure!!

In addition to our fundraising initiatives, monetary donations can be made on behalf of Stacey Price to the following link:

Here are some of our favourite moments from last years event:

Can't wait for next time!

These Are The Hands

Have you ever given much thought to your hands? I mean besides noticing they’re dry or rough and reaching for the lotion. Well, I was thinking about mine and not only what they do for me but how many times hands are referred to in everyday speech.

“Give me a hand” really means that I’d like your help with this, whereas “Give her a hand!” probably means to applaud the lady. OK, applaud is often said as, “Put your hands together now…” to show that you liked or agreed with what the person did or said.

How about “show me your hands”? That depends on who said it. Was it a cop or a mom? “You’re pretty handy” is a complement for completing a project of some kind from knitting to decorating a cake to hanging a picture or tearing down a wall.

Two sayings come to mind – “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you” warns you not to hurt the very person who is helping you, and, “The only way to hold onto love is with an open hand” which translates to when you truly love someone you’ll give them the freedom to live their own life while you’re living your life to the fullest.

What picture comes to mind when I say:
  • Take my hand
  • Hold you in my hands
  • Strong hands
  • Tiny hands
  • Hold hands
  • Loving hands
  • Hand of compassion
  • Gentle hands
  • Shake hands
  • Shaking hands

In many of the weddings I write the couples request a Hand Holding or a Hand Fasting ceremony (2 totally different additions). Brides and grooms want to exalt hands because that is often and usually the first form of physical contact made between two people and they want to honor their first contact.

Let me share with you one of the poems I use in a hand holding ceremony. I did not originally write this and truthfully have no idea who did, but, here it is. You may want to incorporate it into your wedding ceremony.

These Are The Hands

These are the hands that will work along side you as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief temporarily comes your way.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement to chase down your dreams.

These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
These are the hands that will lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into eyes that are filled with love for you.

And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

And so, my friend, if I can ever be of service to you, I extend to you my hand.

ENGAGE 11 PHOTOS DAY 1

Today I had to thesaurus the word "WOW" to see how else I can explain the wedding industry brilliance that has been a part of this event in San Diego:
Admiration, Applause, Appreciation, Esteem, Praise, Regard, Respect
are all words that don't even begin to describe the incredible people I have met so far.
The wedding industry as a whole is in for some big changes in the next few years and
Marry Me Productions promises to be at the forefront of those changes.
We are committed to pushing the envelope with regards to design, we are committed to executing our clients vision with 100% accuracy and we are committed to bringing our clients a fresh perspective that makes their wedding day uniquely theirs.
